Marlie Philp, Resident Counsellor

Marlie has always been fascinated by human nature, psychology and in particular interpersonal relationships. Her other passion is health and wellness, which led her to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Health Education. A few years later she returned to school to pursue her diploma in Transpersonal Counselling Psychology.

Marlie was drawn to contribute to the Original L60 because she saw it as a one-of-a-kind program which stands out on its own because of the support system it offers. She also believes that our emotional health lies at the center of many of our struggles. We welcome Marlie’s compassionate approach to counselling.

Clarity

Counselor Marlie believes that our emotional health is at the center of our wellbeing. She’s compassionate, real and perceptive. She’s an expert at helping women gain clarity and step into their power.

Self-Discovery

Marlie has developed our signature LMind program as a key part of L60. Through a process of self discovery, healthy rituals and authentic connection Marlie helps you get to the place you want to be. Gently.

What happened to you?
.
So many of us feel defective like there's something wrong with us. We search for a diagnosis, a pill, a guru to make it make sense.
.
We can't figure out why we're stuck with the same old health challenges. Why can't I eat healthier? Why can't I stick with an exercise routine? If only I were better in some way.
.
We don't take a step back and look at our lives and consider what we've had to endure. The pain and loss that is so inevitable in the human experience.
.
This isn't about being a victim, but it is about offering ourselves deep compassion and understanding when we trip and fall.
.
Even if we didn't have major trauma in our lives, we have all received toxic messages around who we are "supposed" to be.
.
The story of your life matters. You can make a change whenever you want but often, to know where we're going, we have to be willing to look at where we've been.
.
"How to do the work" Book club starts June 7/21.

It's okay if you can't fit into your high school jeans.
Or if you used to eat dairy and now you can't.
Sleeping in was easy, and now you're up at 6am every morning.
.
Work on the health changes that disrupt your quality of life. Accept the ones that don't.
.
It's okay to change and age. Your definition of good health can flex with the times.
